10. Trade ins mean money not necessarily required.

Rocktown Music buys all sorts of used musical stuff.  Got an old pedal sitting around that you used twice?  You used to.  Now you have a down payment on your new Digitech Jam Man so your One Man Band will sound better than the demo of those guys you hang out with who need to take lessons.  Trade, consign, or outright sell.  We're buying, and we pay more than Pawn Stars.

It's okay to say, "I didn't know that," at Rocktown Music, and we hear it every day from pros and novices.  We even answer questions without embarrassing or intimidating you, no matter what your level of experience.    Musicians seem to speak a different language, we speak that language if you do, but if you don't, we're more than happy to translate.

We know that for certain musicians, it's not enough to sound good.  It's got to be completely cool and made in the U.S.A. to get your attention... and you want to hear it before you buy it.  We stock products from dozens of boutique and local brands and always looking for more.  Of course, those $700 wah pedals point-to-point soldered by the guy who taught Eddie Van Halen eight-finger tapping in utero are hard to find... but if that is what you're looking for, we'd love to make it happen for you.

We know you're comparison shopping on your iPhone in the parking lot.  We're not asking you to be a martyr just to shop local, paying more than you need to for the exact same thing.  We hate that.  That's why we've got everything (new and used) priced to match the competition.  If it should happen that we are not the lowest price... don't feel bad, just say so- we will be happy to match it.

2. Gibson guitars sometimes ship with Epiphone pickups

True story.  A guy buys a multi-thousands dollar guitar from a website claiming to be his "friend."  It just doesn't sound right and he can't figure it out.  He takes it to the technician at his local store who tells him the $600 value stock pickups were swapped with $30 pickups.  How could this happen? Someone not only previously owned the guitar he thought was new, meddled with it, returned it, and his website "friend" sold it to him as new.  At Rocktown Music our new guitars have never been owned. Our used guitars have been inspected, tested and returned to proper order by our skilled luthiers and technicians.  Best of all, you can play them before you buy them.

I challenge you to find an owner-operator who is more experienced and knowledgeable in music retail, education, repair, and performance.
